I have always wanted, to travel far and wide
Circumstances though, haven't always been on my side
I don't mind it though, for closer to my home
I have explored places, not widely known!
For sometime now, to fly high I have been trying
It has been difficult, with the weight borne by each wing
I don't mind it though, for closer to my home
Ailing parents have blessed me, with a tiara and a throne!
Those blue ribbons, that make up purse
They weren't made for me, there isnt't that much surplus
I don't mind it though, for closer to my home
With study and nutrition, faces have always shone!
It was always decided, on top of my career I shall be
Crying babies and longing infants, have witheld that from me
I don't mind it though, for closer to my home
An angel looks at me, like his world is me alone!
What I could have achieved, can fill up long reams
Today I light a lamp, to my middle class dreams!
P.S. - Millions of fellow citizens have remained common and lived ordinary lives, not for the lack of ambition but due to various hurdles and responsibilities that life presented them with. And yet, do I know a fair few who have found such happiness that these truly seem like lives truly lived!
